GOLF COURSE COMMUNITIES

Florida's First Coast boasts over 60 golf courses including more than 30 large residential golf course communities. Some of these are private (only members and guests may play), but quite a few are semi-private (non-members may play).  A few exclusive communities only allow residents to be members. The green flags to the left mark the locations of some of these golf course communities. As of June, 2010, there are 24 golf course communities listed with a total of approximately 900 homes for sale. The listings are updated daily. AMELIA NATIONAL is the newest country club community in Nassau County. It features a beautiful Tom Fazio designed 18-hole golf course, a 10,000 square foot clubhouse, fitness center, resort style swimming pool, 4 tennis courts, and nature trails. This community has many spec homes and home sites available not listed here. CIMARRONE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB has many homes nestled among its 18 holes of golf. While the community is nearly built out, they do have a few new golf course home sites available. DEERCREEK COUNTRY CLUB is a gated true country club community near the Avenues Mall. DEERWOOD is a true Country Club in southern Duval County. EAGLE HARBOR is a large community located near the northern tip of Fleming Island and bordering Doctor's Inlet. It offers deep water access in addition to its 4-star Clyde Johnston designed 18-hole golf course. Eagle Harbor was named the "Best Planned Community in North Florida" by the Northeast Florida Planning and Zoning Council. EAGLE LANDING is part of Oakleaf Plantation, one of the newest and largest communities in the area, with dozens of neighborhoods providing a life style for everyone. The Eagle Landing neighborhood is being built around a new Clyde Johnston championship golf course. Over a dozen builders offer home sites and spec homes in the many neighborhoods of Oak Leaf Plantation, including Eagle Landing. FLEMING ISLAND PLANTATION has a Bobby Weed designed 18 hole golf course meandering through 12 distinct neighborhoods. This community has a full suite of amenities, including a 250,000 sf "village square". GLEN KERNAN GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB may be Jacksonville's most prestigious golf and country club community. HIDDEN HILLS COUNTRY CLUB is well named, being located in an area of rolling terrain near Fort Caroline, and offering the amenities of a true country club. JACKSONVILLE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB is an established, gated, true country club community centrally located in the Southside area. JULINGTON CREEK PLANTATION (in the northwest corner of St. Johns county) has an 18 hole course meandering through the neighborhoods of a huge, 4200 acre development. MAGNOLIA POINT GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB is the southernmost golf course in Clay County, situated on the outskirts of Green Cove Springs. This 1,000+ acre gated golf club community includes a 27 hole Mark McCumber designed golf course, 7 clay tennis courts, and a Jr. Olympic pool. MARSH LANDING is a 1700 acre upscale gated true country club community with an "Ed Seay" golf course. NORTH HAMPTON has an Arnold Palmer Signature 18-hole golf course and just over 600 homes and homesites. Portions of the community overlook miles of marshlands with impressive views. North Hampton is located 6 miles west of Fernandina Beach. There may be additional homes and homesites available that are not listed in the NorthEast Florida MLS. ORANGE PARK COUNTRY CLUB has many homes nestled among its 18 holes of golf. PALENCIA is a new upscale gated community. In addition to dozens of resale properties, there are many homesites and spec homes available. QUEEN'S HARBOUR GOLF & YACHT CLUB offers both an excellent golf course and deep water access.  Queen's Harbor has a fresh water marina and many waterfront homes with docks. SAWGRASS COUNTRY CLUB is situated between highway A1A and the Atlantic Ocean. A 1250 acre community built around 27 holes of a beautiful golf course, it is the largest and most active country club in the First Coast. Amenities include oceanfront dining at their private beach club. SOUTH HAMPTON features a Mark McCumber 18 hole course with homes along nearly every hole. Nearly all of the homes are on the golf course, a lake, or a preserve. ST JOHNS GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB has many homes nestled among its 18 holes of golf.   THE PLANTATION AT PONTE VEDRA is a gated country club community built among the holes of an Arnold Palmer / Ed Seay golf course.  They have a private beach club which offers casual dining and hosts the community pool.  Membership in the country club is mandatory and limited to residents. They also have a number of golf course homesites available for construction of custom homes. TPC SAWGRASS is the site of the Tournament Players Championship every year. There are three 18 hole courses, including the private Oakbridge Golf Club course (recently renamed The Ponte Vedra Golf and Country Club). The Stadium Course (site of the TPC Championship) has only a few homes bordering it, while the Valley Course has many. WINDSOR PARKE is a semi-private 18-hole Arthur Hills golf course which has been given a 4 star rating by Golf Digest. WORLD GOLF VILLAGE is a major golf destination featuring a dozen distinct neighborhoods and two golf courses (the King & Bear, and the Slammer & Squire). The King & Bear neighborhood has many homes along the golf course. WGV also hosts hotels, restaurants, shops, and the World Golf Hall of Fame.
